Wedding Photography by Griffimages

I had the pleasure of photographing Tammy and Matt’s wedding on October 15, 2010. They were married at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lone Tree, Colorado, and had the reception at the Lone Tree Country Club. Here are my favorite images from their wedding and reception.

I recently had the opportunity to be the second shooter for a 200+ guest wedding at the beautiful Colorado Springs Fine Art Center. Other than shooting candids at a couple of friends’ weddings, I have not really ventured into the wedding photography arena before.

It was a lot of work, which I expected; but it was also a lot more fun than I had thought it would be. Of course, I think the fact that the bride and groom and their bridal party were all genuinely nice and happy people, not stressed out, but truly enjoying and celebrating the event, had a lot to do with that!

I shot several hundred images over a five hour period, covering the bride and bridesmaids as they got ready, the ceremony from the beginning of the aisle and from the back once they had passed me, and then moving up behind the alter area (so that between the main photographer and myself we covered every aspect of the ceremony), and then a lot of candid shots while he did all of the traditional and group shots.

I got some really great shots, especially close-ups of the kids (it was a very family friendly gathering, with lots of “little humans” in attendance).  I’m glad that I was able to participate in their joyous day. And after such a good experience, I’m actually looking forward to shooting other weddings in the future.
